Matthew P. Cullen is an associate in the Firm's Banking Department.  His practice focuses on commercial real estate finance and he regularly represents institutional lenders in their capacity as originators of mortgage financing on multi-family housing, commercial office buildings and shopping centers, as well as secured and unsecured  lines of credit, and financing secured by blocks of unsold cooperative corporation shares and the appurtenant proprietary leases.  Mr. Cullen negotiates and documents loans for commercial lending institutions, including the drafting and re-writing of commitment letters, notes, mortgages, loan agreements, modification agreements (loan workouts), guaranties, environmental indemnities and agreements with third parties.  He provides advice to the Firm's commercial lending clientele and individual borrowers to ensure continuing compliance with federal and state regulations governing lending, mortgages, foreclosure, loan restructuring, and bankruptcy.  Mr. Cullen is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers' Association, as well as the Nassau County Former Assistant District Attorneys Association, having previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Nassau County District Attorney's Office from 1998-2002. He is also a member of the Firm's Hiring Committee.  Mr. Cullen also engages in general practice, providing the Firm's individual clients with general legal services, such as transactional real estate, and advising them on general corporate matters and leasing.
