Experience

Timothy J. Flanagan has extensive trial and appellate experience in both state and federal courts in lawsuits involving professional and products liability, employmment discrimination, insurance coverage, commercial and construction claims.  He has argued appeals involving employment discrimination, tort claims, intellectual property, insurance and commercial issues before the Appellate Divisions of the State of New York, the New York State Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals. Prior to joining Cullen and Dykman LLP in 1984, Mr. Flanagan specialized in the defense of medical malpractice claims, and, from 1982 through 1984, defended a major tire manufacturer in products liability cases throughout the country.

Mr. Flanagan is active in the Brooklyn and New York State Bar Associations, as well as the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, where he was a member of the Civil Courts and the Insurance Law Committees.  He also served on the Malpractice Risk Prevention Committee of the Church Charities Foundation, which owned and operated two hospitals and several nursing homes in Brooklyn, Queens, and Long Island.  Mr. Flanagan is admitted to practice in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts.  He has been selected as one of the Irish Legal 100, made up of the top 100 Irish American Lawyers in the country, for the second year in a row.  http://irishlegal.newspaperdirect.com
