Christopher H. Palmer represents commercial lending and financial institutions, concentrating on secured loans and credit facilities, including both mortgage and asset based loans. In this regard, Mr. Palmer provides representation to direct portfolio lenders and secondary market lenders, by drafting commercial loan documentation and handling legal and structured finance issues. He has broad experience handling loans secured by commercial retail and office buildings, multi-family apartment properties, and mixed use properties. In an active advisory role, he is engaged in the drafting and negotiation of detailed loan documentation and loan agreements, pertinent disclosures, commitment letters, guarantees and environmental indemnities, and other credit enhancements.
In addition to the transactional commercial lending practice, Mr. Palmer also advises the firm’s banking clients to ensure continuing compliance with federal and state regulations governing lending and mortgages. Assisting servicing departments of banking institutions, he has extensive experience in creditors' rights matters including negotiating loan default workout agreements, handling all aspects of foreclosure actions, and resolving disputes over enforceability of security interests, loan documents and lender liability.
Mr. Palmer has served as a CLE lecturer on several CLE panels, speaking on topics such as “Representing the Commercial Mortgage Lender” and “Cutting Edge Issues in Real Property Law.”
