Experience
Matthew G. Roseman has been practicing bankruptcy, workout and creditors’ rights law with the Firm since 2003, including as a partner since 2005. He heads Cullen and Dykman’s Creditors’ Rights Department. Mr. Roseman has represented debtors, creditors, landlords, municipalities and acquirers of assets in bankruptcy proceedings throughout theUnited States since 1988. Most recently, he was lead counsel in the Chapter 11 proceeding of a major heavy construction contractor in the metropolitan area. Mr. Roseman also recently advised the purchaser of distressed assets in a Chapter 11 bankruptcy sale which bought a regional retail chain with locations in five states. He also has successfully argued a case of first impression before the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit involving an issue of bankruptcy procedure. During his years of practice, Mr. Roseman has advised debtors and creditors in corporate reorganizations involving both public corporations and privately held businesses and has participated in a wide range of matters involving bankruptcy, workouts, restructuring and creditors’ rights on behalf of the Firms banking clients. He currently serves as general counsel to several companies for which he has advised in their acquisition or reorganization and has developed a sub-specialty of representing parties in the bankruptcy or insolvency of construction companies and contractors. Mr. Roseman is a frequent speaker on bankruptcy law and workouts for various financial institutions and professional organizations.
In 1988, he received his Juris Doctor from George Washington University Law School and completed his undergraduate studies at Washington University in 1985. Mr. Roseman is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New York, the federal courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
