Kevin Patterson


Kevin Patterson represents banks and other financial institutions regarding legal and regulatory compliance issues and advises his clients on the operational implementation of such requirements. Mr. Patterson has extensive experience applying his regulatory compliance expertise to the electronic delivery of financial services.  He has served as primary counsel for the establishment and the regular operations of several online banking services, including mobile banking services via a downloadable app, text banking and wireless browsers. In addition, Mr. Patterson’s practice includes complex technology transactions involving software licensing, outsourcing and services agreements.

Past Experience

Mr. Patterson began his career at Cullen and Dykman LLP. After leaving the firm, he served as Deputy General Counsel and Compliance Officer at Crossland Savings and  Associate General Counsel at Republic National Bank of New York, where he handled retail banking and lending issues in regard to disclosures, operations and technology issues. Mr. Patterson spent more than ten years at Citibank where he supported retail banking and was responsible for the development and regular operations of Citibank Online, including Citi Mobile. In addition, he served as General Counsel to Citigroup’s software development and technology affiliate, Citicorp Services. Mr. Patterson has also served as Senior Counsel for information technology, operations and sourcing at GE Capital and as Associate General Counsel at TIAA-CREF Trust Company, FSB.

Professional & Community Activities

Mr. Patterson serves regularly as a panelist and lecturer at various continuing education forums, including Practicing Law Institute (PLI) and American Lawyers Media (ALM).
