Christopher E. Ruggiero is a partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation department. He leads the Construction Litigation division in New York and manages the firm's Construction and Labor Law practice groups.

Christopher represents building owners, construction companies, and other corporate clients in state and federal court litigation involving contract disputes, general construction issues, construction defects, premises liability, labor law, mass torts, toxic/environmental torts, property damage, employment, discrimination, insurance coverage, and various other commercial matters. He also represents architects, surveyors, and engineers in professional liability litigation, and has successfully defended clients in lawsuits and arbitration proceedings involving claims of errors and omissions, including negligence, design errors, and misrepresentation.

Christopher has also defended numerous clients with respect to design and professional claims involving electrical, mechanical, surveying, excavation, curtain wall, window wall, civil engineering, HVAC design defects, construction management claims, delays, scheduling disputes, specifications defects, and change orders. He prioritizes working closely with his professional clients to understand their practices and identify how he can best protect their interests when claims are asserted against them.

  • Served as a member of the World Trade Center Disaster Site Litigation – 21 MC 100 Steering Committee Counsel, involving over 10,000 respiratory lawsuits in federal court arising from the World Trade Center disaster recovery and clean-up effort.
