Christopher M. Helsel


Christopher Helsel joined the litigation practice of Cullen and Dykman LLP in 2017. His practice consists of commercial, construction and insurance coverage litigation, as well as general tort litigation including premises liability, labor law, property damage and the litigation of various commercial matters, including contractual disputes.

Past Experience

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Helsel worked as an associate at an insurance defense firm focusing primarily on premises liability, labor law and construction defect litigation. He also completed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Philip J. Maenza, Judge for the Superior Court of New Jersey, Civil and Family Divisions, Morris/Sussex Vicinage. Throughout his time as a law clerk, Mr. Helsel served as a Court-trained mediator for the Special Civil Division of the Morris and Sussex County Courts.

In 2012, Mr. Helsel completed a summer clerkship with the National Football League Management Council. Following graduation from Villanova University School of Law, Mr. Helsel earned an LL.M. in International Sports Law from Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economia (ISDE) in Madrid, Spain and completed a post-graduate clerkship with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. He has also written extensively for the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law section of the New York State Bar Association.
