Jennifer A. McLaughlin is Co-Chair of the Firm's Higher Education Practice Group and a member of the Firm’s Commercial Litigation Department. Jennifer has over twenty years of complex commercial litigation experience representing clients in state and federal courts as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the U.S Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights, the National Labor Relations Board, the New York State Division of Human Rights and in arbitrations and mediations. Jennifer’s representation includes clients in a wide variety of industries, including higher education and not-for-profit. In the case of higher education, Jennifer advises colleges and universities with respect to policy development and implementation, disability accommodation issues, employment law issues, intellectual property matters as well as internal and external investigations. She litigates cases for colleges and universities commenced under federal and state statutes including proceedings that arise under Article 78 of the New York Civil Practice Laws and Rules. Jennifer also advises colleges and universities on Title IX matters, investigations and regularly serves as a TIX hearing panelist. She also served as Associate Counsel in a small legal department for a large private University where she provided counsel to senior administrators on a full range of legal and compliance matters, as well as representation of the University in labor and employment arbitration and litigation.
