Joseph J. Borges

Mr. Borges has practiced in the Trusts and Estates Department of Cullen and Dykman LLP since 1995.  Before that time he practiced in the Real Estate and Foreclosure Department at Cullen and Dykman LLP beginning in 1990.  He is experienced in all facets of estate administration and has extensive litigation experience representing both individuals and banks in Surrogate’s Court and other state courts involving contested trust and estate, guardianship and real estate matters.  He is also experienced in Appellate Court practice and has successfully briefed and argued appeals.  He represented clients before the September 11^th Victim Compensation Fund and successfully argued for increases to the awards made to his clients.  Mr. Borges is knowledgeable in the area of guardianship proceedings representing clients in proceedings brought in both the Surrogate’s Court and Supreme Court.  He also has extensive experience representing individuals and estates in real estate matters and also has considerable experience in the areas known as Elder Law, Medicaid planning and asset protection.
