Karen I. Levin
Karen Levin advises the firm’s energy and utility clients on a wide range of regulatory and valuation matters, including permitting and liability issues, environmental compliance and the reduction of real property taxes. Her practice includes the prosecution of real property and special franchise tax related administrative and judicial proceedings.
Karen also advises advises and represents the Firm's clients on trademark, service mark and copyright issues, including the preparation, filing, prosecution and maintenance of trademark and service mark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and copyright applications with the Copyright Office. Karen has represented clients in enforcing and defending intellectual property rights in both administrative proceedings, namely opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and judicial proceedings. She is also experienced in negotiating and drafting various intellectual property agreements, including consent agreements, concurrent use agreements, license agreements and security agreements.
Karen is a member of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and the Intellectual Property Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association.
