Karen I. Levin is a partner in the firm’s Corporate department. She represents Energy and Utility clients in a wide range of regulatory and valuation matters, including permitting and liability issues, environmental compliance, reduction of real property taxes, including special franchise taxes, and prosecution of real property and special franchise tax-related administrative and judicial proceedings. She has successfully litigated challenges to the legality and constitutionality of various taxing schemes which resulted in millions of dollars in refunds and future tax savings for the firm’s clients.

Karen also advises and represents the firm's clients on trademark, service mark, and copyright issues, including the prosecution and maintenance of trademark and service mark applications and registrations with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and copyright applications and registrations with the United States Copyright Office. She has represented clients in the enforcement and defense of intellectual property rights in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and in judicial proceedings. She also has significant experience negotiating and drafting consent agreements, concurrent use agreements, license agreements, security agreements, and other intellectual property-related agreements.
