Matthew P. Cullen is a partner in the firm's Banking and Financial Services department. Focusing his practice on Commercial Real Estate Finance, he regularly represents institutional lenders in their capacity as originators of mortgage financing for multi‐family residences, commercial office buildings, and shopping centers, and he also has significant experience serving as counsel with regard to secured and unsecured lines of credit, financings secured by blocks of unsold cooperative corporation shares, and appurtenant proprietary leases.

Matthew prepares and negotiates loan documentation for commercial lending institutions, including commitment letters, notes, mortgages, loan agreements, modification agreements (loan workouts), guarantees, environmental indemnities, and agreements with third parties. He also provides advice to the firm's commercial lending clientele and individual borrowers regarding compliance with federal and state lending, mortgage, foreclosure, loan restructuring, and bankruptcy laws and regulations.

Matthew also engages in general practice, representing the firm's clients in matters such as real estate transactions, general corporate matters, and leasing. He is a member of the firm’s Hiring Committee.
