Peter J. Mastaglio is senior counsel in the firm’s Commercial Litigation department. Having previously served as head of the department, Peter represents clients in a diverse range of matters including employment discrimination, civil rights, real property, real property taxation, eminent domain, zoning and land use, general contract and corporate law, constitutional law, real estate law, creditors' rights, and professional malpractice litigation. He has extensive trial experience in state and federal court, has represented numerous clients in arbitration, and has argued many appeals before the New York Court of Appeals, the Appellate Divisions of the New York State Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Peter is listed on the Roster of Mediators maintained by the Justices of the Appellate Division, Second Department and the Commercial Division, Supreme Court, Nassau County, Suffolk County, and Queens County and has served as a mediator in a number of complex commercial cases. He has also served as a court-appointed receiver overseeing the marketing and auction sale of a block of commercial and residential properties in three counties and in several instances as a court-appointed referee to supervise discovery and rule on discovery issues in complex litigation.

Peter began his legal career as a Judge Advocate and served as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia and in the former Republic of Vietnam prior to entering private practice.
