Steven L. Zelkowitz
Steven L.
Zelkowitz is an independent energy consultant and attorney. He recently retired
as Executive Vice President for Generation, Business Development and Energy
Supply for National Grid USA. In that capacity, he was responsible for the
operating and financial performance of National Grid’s electric generating
fleet; asset and corporate development activities in the United States; as well
as the management of energy procurement and related derivative transactions for
National Grid’s US-based businesses. Prior to his tenure at National Grid, Mr.
Zelkowitz was President of the Energy Assets & Supply Group at KeySpan Corporation
until its acquisition by National Grid. Other positions held with KeySpan were
Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer and Executive Vice
President and General Counsel. Mr. Zelkowitz joined KeySpan after a twenty year
career with Cullen and Dykman representing utilities and energy companies. He
is a graduate of New York University and St. John’s University School of Law.
He is a member of the American Bar Association and New York State Bar
Association, and is past chair of its Public Utility Law Committee.
Mr.
Zelkowitz is a member of the Board of Directors of the general partner of
Williams Pipeline Partners, LP, a publicly traded master limited partnership,
and serves on its Audit and Conflicts Committees. He also serves on the Board
of Trustees of Brooklyn Law School and is chair of its Finance Committee. He is
a member of the Board of Trustees of the Volunteer Lawyers Project of the
Brooklyn Bar Association and a member of the National Board of Governors of the
American Jewish Committee.
