Thomas S. Baylis
Mr. Baylis has practiced in the area of commercial litigation for over 22 years. Mr. Baylis has represented a broad array of clients including those in the areas of commercial lending, real estate and telecommunications. He has represented lenders in commercial foreclosure actions, loan restructurings and workouts. Mr. Baylis has litigated a wide variety of issues in foreclosure actions including defenses and counterclaims alleging lender liability, fraud and violations of various statutes and regulations governing mortgage loans. Mr. Baylis has also represented mezzanine lenders and holders of preferred equity in connection with defaulted loans. Mr. Baylis was lead counsel in the landmark zoning action entitled Retail Property Trust v. Board of Zoning Appeals of Town of Hempstead, 98 N.Y.2d 190, 746 N.Y.S.2d 662 (2002).
