Thomas Wassel Comments in National Law Journal on Supreme Court Decision Concerning Compensability of Post-Shift Security Checks

Thomas Wassel, a partner in the Labor and Employment Department, provided commentary to the National Law Journal on the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision in Integrity Systems v. Busk, which involved certain employees leased to Amazon.com by a staffing agency.The Court unanimously found that the "postliminary" activity of going through a security check after the end of employees' shifts was not compensable under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
