Cullen and Dykman Successfully Defends Long Island Oral Surgeon Before the New York State Office of Professional Discipline Against Claims by Former Patient

October 3, 2016

Cullen and Dykman Partner Andrew P. Nitkewicz recently defended a Long Island Oral Surgeon before the New York State Office of Professional Discipline (OPD) in response to a complaint filed by a former patient.  OPD is the New York State Agency charged with investigating claims of misconduct by certain healthcare providers.  OPD’s investigations are thorough and are handled by skilled specialists who investigate allegations of professional misconduct.

Our client’s former patient asserted numerous claims of unprofessional behavior on behalf of the Oral Surgeon.  In response, Mr. Nitkewicz provided OPD with information in our client’s defense including contradictory deposition testimony from the complaining patient.

In response, the OPD ruled that there was no evidence to support the allegations of the former patient and, consequently, dismissed all claims and closed their investigation.
