Employment Statutes--Advice and Litigation
The attorneys in the Labor and Employment department give our clients advice on all aspects of laws which affect the workplace, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the New York State Human Rights Law, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Older Workers' Benefit Protection Act (OWBPA), the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), and the Polygraph Protection Act, among others. We counsel our clients from initial analysis of company policies to full compliance review, including meeting with governmental agencies to assure that our clients are fully protected.
We constantly monitor new legislation and regulations so as to advise our clients on changes that may affect them.
Should disputes arise over compliance with employment laws, we represent our clients, with the assistance of our Litigation department as appropriate, to achieve favorable results.
