Labor and Employment Issues
Financial institutions face the same employment issues that other businesses do. We regularly provide advice to our financial institution clients on all aspects of labor and employment relations. We help develop personnel policies and handbooks, provide advice on wage and hour law issues, assist in investigations in cases of employee discipline and sexual harassment, and represent our clients in employment matters before all governmental agencies. We provide advice on complying with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and SAFE Act in connection with background checks of current and prospective employees. We prepare individual employment agreements for officers of financial institutions. We assist in compliance with the New York State Wage Theft Protection Act and all other state laws relating to employees.
